My first trip to the land of smiles took place in December 2011. Like many, then I was thinking by stereotypes. I believed that this is a poor country with its mores and unsanitary conditions. In general, I refused to go there. But at the initiative of the now ex-wife, I still decided. I bought tickets to the Phuket Island and we went to set off acquainted with the unknown.

Arrived at Phuket International Airport, we were met by a guide, and on the bus we went to the hotel. Outside the window, unfamiliar streets and amazing nature flashed by. I was already impressed. We got to the hotel at late in the evening, and decided to stay in the room, relax and tidy myself up after a long flight.

We stayed at the Baumancasa Beach Resort, it is located on the Karon beach, and it was not a random hotel choice, we immediately fell in love with this place. Which is not surprising, the staff is really glad to see you, there is a cozy cafe, a massage salon and several swimming pools on the territory. But to be to the sea and swim in the pool it’s not about us.

Across the road from the hotel within walking distance is the beach, it’s very convenient. Do not spend much time on the road. You just need to get away from the channel, which flows into the sea, southwards along the coast and you can enjoy clean sea water, sand, bright sun and sea breeze – this is cool. Henceforth I’m not swiming in Obsk reservoir.

Phuket excursions

In the morning I decided that we needed to get to know the local color more closely and bought a couple of excursions. As a result, we visited the Big Buddha temple, a Maya Bay, a Phi Phi Island, a zoo, an aquarium, a butterfly park and other interesting places.

I liked the zoo a lot, there was a rich program, we watched monkeys and crocodiles. I had to ride the elephant and grab the tiger by the throat.

In the Andaman Sea with its islands, I fell in love at first sight.

This was my first trip to the land of smiles, and certainly not the last. I already realized then that I would definitely come back to Thailand.
