What helps

It’s no secret that from time to time life tests us. Often these tests we create ourselves. In my case, this statement was no exception. After a failed reconciliation and divorce, I arrived in a depressed state. And what helps in such situations?

It was necessary to take up his head. I decided to distract myself by work, but it turned out badly. Even the coming spring was no pleas. And I decided to go to Phuket a second time, but already one. True, I almost changed my mind. One to the island, what to do there, why spend the money?

The Phuket Island

I flew to the airport in Phuket at April 2012. Stepping on the ramp of the plane, I was greeted by a tropical breeze from the west coast of this wonderful island. So I was in paradise. The road to the hotel took about an hour, this time I stayed at PGS Hotels Casa Del Sol. It is located on the Kata beach. Of course not on the beach itself, but without any hurry in 5 minutes you will be on the coast.

The hotel is four-star. Although comparing it with the previous trip. It did not affect the price. The hotel has large, spacious rooms with a large terrace where you can have a nice evening. What I’m talking, this is not Karon, here the party happens everywhere and the terrace will not be needed.

In the next room settled Eliya – a girl with whom we flew together from Novosibirsk. I didn’t meet with any of the tourists, everyone disappeared somewhere. Yes, and I was not up to them.

Quickly took a shower, had a breakfast and went to the Karon beach.  My impressions from previous trip to Kata beach were not very good.  I was on the beach in the evening. The water was low and people to taken out water bikes. Jeeps on the beach – this is superfluous.

Rip current

This time I understood what the red flags and information signs on the coast mean. I went into the water, the waves were strong.  I got into reverse flow.  No matter how hard I tried to get close to the shore, I could not do that.  Until I sailed away from rip current by the shoreline with the direction of the wind.

Having almost spent my strength, I got to the shore. There was nobody on the beach, everything happened early in the morning. Quickly replacing the wet shorts with dry ones, I headed towards the Baumancasa Beach Resort. The tropical rain surprised me, literally in a few seconds everything that was on me and with me, including the money in the purse, got wet.

Things to do in Phuket

I hired a tuk-tuk driver and we went to Patong, at the Jungceylong shopping mall. I had to make a couple of purchases. Here they are like to use air conditioners. I quickly bought everything, and I was again on the street. Fortunately the downpour ended, and the sun quickly warmed me. I went back by a taxi, it was cheaper. There was a meeting with a hotel guide ahead.

Without long think I bought a trip for two-day to the Phi Phi Island. The boats no longer go to the Similan Islands at this time of the year. The rest of the day was at my disposal. And the question of what helps still didn’t give rest to me.

After lunch at the hotel restaurant I went for a walk. I learned a lot of interesting things, made friends with good people on the market and ended up on Kata beach. The sun was warming as it should.  I bought the protection from a sun and used it as advised Mikhail Grebenshchikov in his video. One girl even appeared willing to help me. But it was like lead-up to divorce for money. I didn’t want to offend the lady and was forced to retire. She wanted to take my phone number, but my phone didn’t work. A phone overheated in the sun. An amazing event, even the fall from the ninth floor did not affect its functionality)))

Strolling along the beach I saw rescuers on the training. They take the matter seriously.

Light mountaineering

On the northern end of the beach, I saw stones of unknown origin, huge boulders. Possible people it made for strengthen the coast or these are volcanic origin. Everything looks naturally. At first glance, there is not possible walking on foot. But our people everywhere will find the road. I came to these stones by path from the hill where the expensive and not very hotels are located.

For the entire walk on the stones did not meet, not a single aborigine. It turned out a kind of easy mountaineering, well, not like in the movie “Point Break”, but nonetheless. Flip flops were erased about the stones.

In that place, like on a skillet.  You can’t go and can’t take a dip to the water. All stones overgrown with razor-sharp shells, and all my attempts were not successful.

Approximately in the middle of the way I found a natural Jacuzzi, the water in it was clean, helped by the level of the Andaman Sea. Water updated by surf. When I refreshed, drowned my SONY camera and had rested. I continued on my way. At that time there was not a single exit from the hotels to the sea. Later they appeared however more I never met such places with clean water.

A favorite place on the Phuket

And after four hours of my walk, when the sun was beginning to decline, I approached the southern part of Karon beach. Now this is one of my favorite places in Phuket.

Here is the hotel Beyond Resort Karon, has an excellent location, a chic restaurant, a bar, and of course hospitable staff. For me at that moment – it was an oasis.

After dinner, I moved to a bar and met a girl from China. She rested on Phuket with her younger sister, after drinking a couple of cocktails, talking, she told me that she was married and lives in the states. We had laugh and broke up.

Sympathy

On the way to the hotel, I went to the store for new slates, and went out from there fell in love. Phannida worked as a consultant on the shop. I made her laugh a lot, because my English language not good. Something changed at that moment, mutual sympathy arose. And the question of what helps was resolved by itself.

Phannida introduced me to her friends, great company. One day, I witnessed a quarrel between her friends. The conflict occurred in a nightclub. We tried to reconcile them all night. Then I found out a local tradition. The final reconciliation took place after it was possible to gather everyone near the sculpture of the Naga serpent on Karon.

She also introduced me to traditional Thai cuisine and showed the island, the way I have not yet seen.

After all that had happened to me, there was not a trace of the depressed state. The understanding has come, what is really important. This is not a big apartment in cold Siberia, not a cool car on dirty and broken streets of Novosibirsk, and not even millions in bank accounts or gold bars.

For it enough comfortable a place near the sea. Where respected the balance between the urban world and untouched nature. It is a favorite business, a feeling of freedom and happiness in this tropical paradise. But I needed to return to Novosibirsk. We agreed that I would come in the fall, and we would meet again.
